A person lent my 3 lakh money saying that he'll return 4 lakh in a yr

What should i do now? He returned only 2.5 lakh and now not responding... earlier he gave me a cheque of 4 lakh
As per thr law you have right to deposit the cheque and if it will bounce back then file one Complaint case against the defaulter for recovery of Debt amount and also have right to file money suit , free to connect legal expert who will assist mote.
