Reply to that Legal Notice. State about your situation and about your intention to repay the dues. Talk to the manager and if possible ask for restructuring of the repayment of loan and reduce interest rates if it's upon floating interest. Regularise your account and things should be fine.

You have to reply to that notice, as it is a legal notice what you have received, so you need to answer the notice with you statements, whether you wish to pay or don’t pay, replying to a notice is the legal process

Well, you can reply to the Legal Notice served upon you in which you can seek more time to pay your Outstanding Debt! You can go for either Loan Restructuring or one time settlement with HDFC or waiving of loan being Bankrupt!
