If the wife has purchased the property in her own name from her self-earned income and the title documents stand exclusively in her name, the husband has no automatic ownership right over such property during her lifetime. It is treated as her absolute property under law.
However, if the husband can prove that he financially contributed to the purchase (wholly or partly), he may claim beneficial interest or seek declaration of share by filing a civil suit. Mere marriage does not create ownership rights.
