what will happen if a patta owner dies, does his/her wife/husband gets

A Patta or land owner dies, what will be happen to the Patta or land is it automatically transferable to his sposue or family, village people try to fraud in it what will be the legal procedure in this situation does his wife gets the ownership of the land automatically (belongs to Hindu religion).
on the above mentioned query the legal opinion from my legal knowledge is that as per the Uttar Pradesh revenue code if a Patta holder dies intestate then the legal Heirs of the deceased gets the right over the land .

patta will be transferred in the name of the legal heirs. you will have to approach to the tehsil of your area and from there you can get it legally transferred in the name of the legal heirs. succession certificate or legal heir certificate would be required.
