What is the effect of change of name on claim to property

Sir i am resident of , my father registered certain property in my name say megharam and later he changed my name to say ramu in school records and that name continued accordingly till now now the problem is that whether the registration department will reject to cliam the property basing on the reason that it is registered in name megharam, if yes how can i prove both the names are mine. Note: all my ID and address proofs are in the name of ramu but only proof of ration card in the name of megharam.
Yes, it will land you in many problems, if the names are different. As of now, the name of Ramu is the correct one since all the school records shows the same.
