What are the rights of a married daughter on fathers property
17-Feb-2023 (In Property Law)
My father is more inclined toward my daughters and is not much interested in sharing property with sons. What can we do if doesn't give our share. The property belongs to my father and is not ancestral.
Son daughters wife mother Father of the deceased have equal right to property if their is no will.If their is a will then who ever is named in the will would be beneficiary. You Father is entitled to hand over the property to whom so ever he likes but if it's in name of your father but you all have contributed to it as hindu undivided family then you can claim share.
Since it's your father's own/self acquired property, he is well within his right to do what he chooses to do legally with it. As per the succession Act it today it does not matter if the children are sons or married daughters
As the given situation is not clear from the facts provided by you. Although, if the property is not ancestral and is bought by your father from his own earned money then he is the sole owner of the said property and he has the right to transfer to whomever he wishes to.
