Securing & Receiving Inheritance

16-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
Hello, My father has died few days ago and all his assets are under the control of my brother. I'm a married woman. How do I ensure I get my share of the inheritance of my fathers assets (property & business) according to muslim personal law. I don't know the exact details of the status of my fathers business & assets as we had very less communication between us after they emotionally blackmailed me into signing the release of my mothers property verbally assuring me that they will give my proper share and then sold off the property and severed relation with me and did not give me my share as assured. Is there any way I can put a claim on my share in my fathers business & property and any other assets and what steps needs to be taken for this. Appreciate your help. Thank you.

If your father have died intestate i.e., without any will, then in that case you are entitled to a share in your father’s property. In order to claim your share, you can file a suit for partition in the court of law and proceed further with the process. Your only remedy is to file a suit for partition. Thank you
