Renovation/expansion of house acquired through registered will

I have 1 brother and my mother gave the whole house(ground + first floor) to me through registered will. After my mother's death I gave only first floor to my brother through gift deed. Can my brother stop me from making construction on ground floor like expanding house from sides and front(which will not restrict their movement to common areas like entrance etc).
I gifted only first floor, ground and terrace above first floor are still in my possession?

Your brother cannot stop construction of ground floor as you are sole owner. but what did you state in gift deed is important. are you mentioned in such deed that your brother wiil not make disturbances in future construction of ground floor? if it mentioned you can construct the ground floor without disturb easement right of your brother. if you have any problems discuss with me.

Yes you can make alterations and renovations of your remaining property but that should be subject to that such alterations or renovations should not damage his property and due to which he can file injunctions if any damages took place. If he restricts then even you can move to court to get permission.
