12-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)
Me and my husband bought a property on Dec. 2011, his name is first and mine second. We would like to swap the names, mine should be first.

For rectification deed, You have to nominal registration charges only. And the person/ builder from whom the property is bought should also be available for rectification of deed as the registration is mandatory for it.
This is my response to you:
1. Are you joint owners of the property?
2. If yes, then you have equal rights irrespective of whose name appears first;
3. If you wish to rectify it then it will be an expensive process;
4. Consult a local lawyer and take steps.
