Procedure for registration of land having original and valid sale deed

Hi Sir, My father purchased a piece of land of about half acre along with house on that land subsequently it was not registered till date. When we approach sub registar for registration he said that registration cannot be done as our property along with half of our village has been shown as land belongs to endowment department. How we can register the same in our name,. Whom we need to approach. We are in possession of valid and original sale deed. Please help us.
