Ongoing Land Dispute for 20 years. What can I do ?

25-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
- my dad and uncle purchased land 20 years back, and it was disputed by somebody claiming the land was his. They went to court, and nothing has happened for 20 years. in 2008 the local courts said the land is owned by no one. The other party also tried to build something on the land without permission, and luckily we noticed it and stopped them from doing so. We have now gone to the high court but the wait is so long. its almost 10 years now. Every year we pay the tax we need to pay for the land.

Sir

Once you approach the court of law you need to wait till it disposal. You informed in your quarries that your dad and uncle had you have purchased said property. First your need to confirm you right over the said property. Then all other things.

In your problem you have not explained on what basis the court has 'land is owned by no one'. In case if the property is not belonged to any one, then who's this property and how they acquire the property.

In case if the property acquired by the certain authority, you can claim compensation under the land acquisition process.

Here the person who is having better title can claim the benefits.
