One of the Brother asking for rent from me that we (3 brothers) own
10-Oct-2023 (In Property Law)
My mother had gift deed the property with us (Me and 2 Brothers)
Now i have been living since my Birth and taking care of my Mom and Dad (Both are no more now)
Suddenly after recent death of My Mom my Brother has started asking for rent which i am staying in. (I am living, not put on rent to anybody)
Am i Liable to give any rent ?
I had offered him his share according to current prices but all he wants is rent. (Because this property might go in redevelopment in 5-6 years and it might appreciate then)
What should i do ? Please suggest.

send him a legal notice through advocate and describe anout the gift deed and cealrly tell him that you are residing in the said property so nobody can ask any rent from you and as far share is concerned you are ready to give share or lets go to court and file a partition suit
