My property has been locked by local police without any seize notice

10-Jan-2025 (In Property Law)
I purchased a old house from someone who sold her property to me in Kolkata and moved somewhere else. I did duly register the property in presence of Magistrate and seller, and it was successfully transferred to my name. I also transfer ownership in the Corporation by paying all dues and fulfill all formalities. But few days later a person claims that he paid advance for the same property to the owner and along with local police they locked my property with a padlock forcefully.

dear client as per your query no registration process is done in the presence of magistrate it is done by the registrar of the registry office but if your registration is done and the same house is sold to another person then this is fraud with you you can ask the owner to refund back the the whole amount or you can file case.

You have to make a search regarding what case or cases are pending on the property and then you need to make appropriate submission in court and court will pass an order to open the padlock on the property so that you get the right to use the property as the rightful owner. Please call for more details
