My Husband died in an accident

16-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
My parents bought a property for me and my husband to live in but it was purchased before our marriage, so the loan was taken on my Father in laws name and my husband was co applicant , and registration of the property was done in my mother in laws name, initial payments of the house was done by my parents and after that my husband was paying emi through his father’s account, after his death my in laws asked me to pay the emi of the house and they said they will not take that house from me and i paid directly to the bank n did not transfer the money through my father in laws account and after paying for approx 7months they wrote a letter to the bank that they are not able to pay the emi as their son has died and he was paying the emi , the bank told them as my husband was co applicant he has a death claim policy on his name and the nominee was his mother and she was mentioned as wife in the document still the bank issued the amount and the house became loan free, what are my options now

Since the property is registered in the name of your mother in law you don't have a right in the said property. However since you have paid the EMI s for 7 months from your own account, you have an option to avail the legal remedy to recover that amount from your mother in law by filing a suit for recovery.
