Hi, One of my friend has passed away recently. He left behind his wife, two minor daughters. His mother is alive and father has passed away few years back. He has a house which is still in housing loan. Please let us know if his mother will get a share in the property. They are Hindus.

According to the Hindu Succession Act, in the case of a male dying intestate (i.e.without leaving a will), all the following First Class legal heirs shall inherit his estate equally: wife, children, mother. In this case too this rule shall apply.
