Mothers ancestral property - my right to it.

03-Oct-2024 (In Property Law)
My Mother had a property bequeathed to her by her father ( my grandfather). Now my mother died & my sister says that mother made a will & left the whole property to her & nothing to me. Can my mother will her ancestral property to my sister without giving anything to me? Can I contest my mother's will?

Your mother as per Hindu law can beqeath the property she inherited to your sister by way of 1 will. But is there really such a will ? Find out, just ask her for a copy of the will. weather that village registered or not ? weather there are witnesses to it ? it is not easy to prove a will.

your grandfather had bequeathed the property in favour of your mother which will be considered as your mother's self acquired property. however you can still challenge the will. I would like to know more to advise you better
