Married women's right to reside

03-May-2023 (In Property Law)
My husband has been living at his maternal house since birth (38years) with nhis mother's parents (who passed away 15years back), nhis mother (who passed away 10years back) &nhis father (who also passed away 30years back)nnMy husband was the only son of his parents & so was left alone in the house. nnLater after few years, we got married & after 5years of our marriage, my husband's maternal uncle (brother of my late mother in law, who lives separate) has filed a case against my husband to vacate the house, they say this house doesnt belong to my husband & we cannot live here.Neither I nor my husband could imagine that we will be asked to leave like this ever, since my husband was born here & have been living with parents & grand-parents (maternal), Also his maternal uncle only did our marriage & got me in this house. I dont know what to do as me & my husband doesnt have any place to go. Can the law support us?

Every daughter has equal share as a son after 2005 in law so since ur mother in law passed away in 2011-12 then she had equal share all properties of your husband Nana nani and same came to your husband after her death you have legal right to that property you can file a suit for the same and you can contact use for further discussion

You both are staying as a licensee there …even real parents can kick their children out of their self acquired property. Law doesn’t support you in this circumstance until there is any documents related to sale deed, gift deed, GPA with interest etc or eviction notice at least 12 years old for adverse possession is there ..! If you have non, then sooner or later u need to vacate the property ..it’s better you apologise with grandparents n live peacefully otherwise other legal heirs will smartly grab his property ..
