Legal procedure to claim stridhan back from in laws.

15-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
I have already petitioned for conjual rights which turned negative. I have my jewels which is more than 80soverigns at my in-laws house. How do I get them back. When I orally asked them about returning my jewels they say that my jewels are not there and I have already taken them to my mother's house. How do I deal?

It is not clear whether you filed a case for restoration of conjual rights and what is the status of that case . If the other side has not agreed it is better to go for separation and you can ask for maintenance and return of all your valuables which you brought as dowry.

You have to send a legal notice to your husband and in-laws claiming return of your sridhaan jewels. If there be no response, file a suit at the family court through the local lawyer. Make sure you have strong evidence on hand.

Better file a complaint with the police against your husband and in laws. They have no business to take possession of your jewelry. More over even if you are living with them, they can't keep your jewelry under their custody. In fact even your husband has no right to take your jewels. In your case already you are living separately hence there is no question of keeping your jewelry by them.
