How bankruptcy case filed by landlord make you lose your occupancy.Tenent can not be removed without due process of Law and that is to file eviction suit and get appropriate orders. What you mean by own.Yes you can purchase the property in auction.

Civil case to protect tenancy is an option which can be exercised. The new landlord will then have to accept your tenancy and can only evict you through Civil court proceedings giving you a platform and time to object and contest the eviction.
