Land extension rule by the Indian law for riverside land owners

14-Jan-2023 (In Property Law)
.We have an ancestoral land in Mangalore near the river side. Our fore father were living there and grew coconut trees. They extended a portion of the land and applied for the same. The government has granted the land to my grandfather in 1970. Now some politician wants to encroach the extended land and says it belongs to the government. We want to know what isthe law that allows a land owner to extend his land river side upto 1 acres? And what is the solution to this

Resepcted As you told the lands were ancestroal once and to safe guard the land you file a suit for injunciton against the government for taking the possession over the land. AS you infomred that the land is granted land and the governemnt has not power to encrosh same without adopting due process of law and there is time limit for enrchment also. If ok Please contact us or contact any near by advocate. For time being better you file a civil suit for injunciton is better one.

There should be 100 Meters distance from the boundaries of the river if the river is outside the municipality corporation. If it is nagar panchayath and municipality limits then 50 Meters. Please check wheather your property violates this rule if not then no one can take away your rights. You can file a suit for permanent injunction against the people who are trying to grab your property if it is as per law
