Hi, I want to know if it is safe to buy a property which is gifted to current owner by a family member and is registered as gift.

In terms or safety the most safest deed is the Sale Deed followed by the Gift Deed only. It’s completely safe to buy a property from a seller, who is owner by virtue of Gift Deed. However seeking Due diligence of the property from a lawyer is recommended.

Hello yes the same is okay if the person executing the gift deed is the absolute owner and the documents or title deeds are complete. The duty shall be properly paid and should be properly regsitered in the required jurisdiction.
