Is Completion Certificate Mandatory In Delhi

05-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
Is completion certificate mandatory for a newly constructed building in south delhi. Is the purchaser of flat supposed to bear the expenditures for completion certificate or the builder. It was never informed by the builder to purchaser that completion certificate will be obtained and purchaser will bear cost. Can a builder hold possession if the purchaser refuses to bear these expenses. If the builder has not followed few norms in the construction of the building and does not take completion certificate then what can happen. If the builder is forcing the purchaser to pay for these expenses then what can be done. Will call recordings of conversation with the builder help in this matter.

Hi, Greetings for the day. Completion Certificate of every constructed property needs to be obtained from the authority. In your case it is the duty of the builder /seller to apply and obtain the same. Buyer cannot be made liable for bearing expenses and in case the builder is forcing you, you should take legal action
