I want to cancel my flat booking. because of no work progress

02-Mar-2023 (In Property Law)
I have booked a flat in a project in December 2019. Now I want to cancel my booking because the work there is no work progress in my building. It's a 21 story building and only 1st floor is completed which has a sample flat. He is promising possession in December 2021. I'm not sure that he'll give possession by 2021 as he is not working on this building and he has not worked on this building since 2018. Upon asking for cancellation he said he'll deduct 50,000 from the booking amount and it'll be returned in 30 to 90 days from the date of cancellation. He has not mentioned this cancellation charges in any of the documents given to me. What should I do?

For this 1st you have to send 1 legal notice to the developer if developer is still fail to return your money back then you should have aporch to authority 1st is RERA if project is registered under RERA ,if not then consumer forum is a authority to delat with such type of cases

You can send him a notice through an Advocate. This would be the first step to solve this problem. Let me know if you want any further information or want to send the said notice to him. Which documents do you have given from the builder ?
