Hi! You can seek help from the consumer court to proceed with this. You will have to send a legal notice first to the purchaser. This will be your first step which mostly is effective in claiming compensation from the purchaser and you won’t need to do anything else. Let me know if you wish to proceed with the notice. Thanks!

My sister got married in Feb,19.The boy side demanded huge amount of dowry of worth about 20 lakhs.Since then her mother in law and brother in law is torturing her.Even her husband is not paying any attention to her and has asked her to keep quiet..She is not allowed to contact us.One day her brother in law tried to throw her out of the house and was threatening to beat her. My sister is very calm & is unable to give befitting reply to them becoz of which they are taking undue advantage. My sister is a mother to 1 month old baby girl and her Mother in lawis threatening to take away the child by divorcing my sister. My father is not supporting either me or my sister to take a legal action because of society respect and image. She call us,cry & plead to help her but becoz of my father i m unable to help her. Also, her in law's boast about there rich/political contacts in Mumbai as they own a real estate business & threaten to divorce my sister if we take any legal against them.
Advocate Priya Bhutada answered
Hi! Your sister does not have to tolerate such immoral behaviour. She can with the help of law seek justice from the court. There are options like filing a case of domestic violence in the court or filing a police complaint but to get to the solution I would need to have a detailed discussion to know about your preferences. Let me know if you wish to proceed further with this. Thanks!
