I don't visit native place regularly can I claim share in property

07-Nov-2023 (In Property Law)

It is regarding my father's property. Including me we are 6 brothers. Now we want to divide our property equally among us. I was not able to visit my ancestral property in my native place on a regular basis due to my job in other state of India. I used to visit it once in 2-3 years. Is this a ground for not getting my share in my father's property as one of my brother is saying to divide it among remaining 5 brothers. He is saying as i have not visited my native place regularly and taken care of my ancestral property, so i do not have any share in it. Please advice on this issue.

You got full legal right for your share in father's property. Mere due to less visiting you don't love your right. For this please file a partition suit in your district Court & adjudication you may sell do what ever you want to do with your share. For brief you may call me

Not visiting the native place is not a ground to deny your share in the said property.
