How is the ancestral land divided in the family

My father,78 years,hindu religion has two daughters.One is in Canada and i am married to defence officer.My father inherited ancestral agriculture land.he had filed case in SDM Sadar Tehsil in april 2015 to divide ancestral land among his brothers.But one of his brother objected saying he does need land since both of his daughters are married to well off family He will sell off ancestral land. he had given money to my father when he was bulding his house.(false allegation.By the time my father was well settled. what benefit my father can get from Indian law as he has two daughters

Kindly call some lawyer with all the details it will be better for you.
From the details above mentioned equal shares will be divided equally in all the brothers of your father.
Rest if anyone wants to sell his share he can sell it after partition.

Hi,
According to Indian law your father & your father's brother would have equal share in agricultural ancestral land.The property maintained by himself (or anybody) wouldn't be divided in others.so no one can stopped your father to find benefit in agricultural ancestral land & ancestral abadi land.
