Daughter in law has no right over the property. Only son can claim property if it is an ancestral property otherwise he does not have any right over the property. Father has full power to disown and debar his son over his self acquired property. If the property in an ancestral one then only the partition suit will be maintainable. Revert me. All the best.

Hi. This is with reference to the legal query sought. Daughter in law have no right in the in laws property. There is a clear cut law laid down by the Supreme Court of India. The right of daughter in law arises through her husband . Regards, Aakriti Jain

Son gets inheritance in ancestral property and not the daughter in law. She may get same through her husband that is the son and not otherwise. If son is debarred in accordance with law from inheritance then his wife can't claim.
