Can property owner's stepson take any action after sale

10-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
Im planning to purchase a property whose owner has step sons but he is not revealing. To buy that property and then not get into litigation due to step sons what should i do legally. Any written statement would save me from legal action in future ?? Please suggest.

HI,
if the property is self acquired by the owner and he is ready to register by way of sale deed that is sufficient for you to avail legal right against the whole world.
no written statements from his step sons are required. in case of any civil litigation your right will be protected by law.

Hi
if it is the self acquired property of the owner, then the owner need not take any permission from his sons/ step sons. For a property to be self acquired, the owner should purchased the property with his own money and the property registration should be in his name.
if it is ancestral property of the seller(owner), then better to get all of the family members to sign the property sale deed in order to prevent future litigation.
hope this helps
