Can i claim cost which i incurred to build FIL's house

18-Apr-2023 (In Property Law)
My father-in-law purchased the land and build a house but registered it on his father's name. After his death, his other children are claiming stake in the house. We recently reconstructed the house. Also since the beginning our family is staying here and they are staying in other property which is also in the name of his father. We understand that since the property is on his name, we have to divide it but can we atleast claim the cost we incurred in reconstruction?

Hi there,
You can claim the amount incurred by you for reconstruction through a civil proceeding of recovery through the Legal Representatives of your Father in Law by the way of valid transaction documents.
