According to the Hindu successions act both the son and daughter have equal right in the father property and both of them will get equally property from his father whether they are boy or a girl equally.

Hi, daughter also have equal rights in inherited property. After your father's death the portion of your father( which is equal to 1/3) should be divided into the living members of your family including your mother. Means after your father there are your mother your sister and your self or other living brothers or sisters has equal rights in your father's property. Your sister can claim for any of property either in jointly or separated among the family members. (Only on your father's property and in equal rights)
