Here are the steps to Obtain a Certified Copy of Property Papers
Property records are maintained by the Sub-Registrar's Office where the property was registered. In some cases, local revenue offices or municipal corporations may also have copies. Gather Required Details: Property details (Survey No., Plot No., etc.), Owner’s details (Name, ID proof), Registration details (Date of registration, Document number). Visit the Sub-Registrar Office where the property was originally registered. Fill out the application form with the necessary details. Attach a self-attested copy of your ID proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, etc.). Provide property details and any supporting documents. Pay the Required Fees depending on the location and document type. Payment can usually be made via cash, demand draft, or online (in some states). The authorities will verify your request. If approved, a certified copy will be issued. Collect the Certified Copy: You can collect it in person or request it to be sent by post (if available). Alternative Method: Online Application (Available) Some states provide online services for certified copies via the land records or registration department website. Visit the official portal, fill out the request form, upload documents, and make the payment. Download or receive the copy after verification.
