Can a daughter claim share in the self property of mother?

19-Oct-2023 (In Property Law)
A father earned the money and bought a property but registered it on his wife's name. Can his daughter claim equal right on this property.? Father is no more and the mother is interested in giving the full property to the son and not even a share to the daughter. Is there a legal way which can help the daughter.?

If the property is in your mothers name, she can bequeath her right over the property to any one as she wishes. Not only her son, that's you or your sister or to anyone irrespective of the money used to buy this property of her husband. If you need further clarification, pl do contact me. Thanks.

Hi madam/sir. You have full rights to ask that property share because that property earned to father and only register to mother so you and your brother also equal share holder

The mother is called the "ostensible owner" of the property while the father is the real owner. Based on proof that the property was purchased out of the funds earned by the father, the daughter can file a suit.
