Will I commit a crime if I don't live with in laws?

16-Sep-2024 (In Muslim Law Law)
Im a muslim woman.I'm forced to live with my in laws.Husband works overseas. In order to stand for my self respect and protect my mental health from deteriorating, I'm planning to take up a job and start living with my parents until my husband comes back. Can my in laws take my kids away from me? They think they own me and my kids because my husband spends his income on us. I fear they might come to my parents house and create a scene. Do my in laws really own us?can I ask for police protection?

Well, your In Laws are not your owner. They need to behave with you properly, at the same time, it is your your duty to behave with them properly, you and your In Laws need to have a good Chemistry. If you need Police Protection from your In-Laws, then, a Petition can be filed in Court.
