If father wants to give, he has 2 ways to do the same. One is by way of gift i.e. during his lifetime and another is by way of will i.e. after his death. Gift in islam is known as Hiba. Your father being the absolute owner of property, is at liberty to give it as per his wish and volition. He can gift to anybody in any proportion. if not done during lifetime, the same will be divided wherein boys will get twice the share of girls.

According to the Muslim law, the share of the daughter should be half the share of the son. If your father wants to give 1 share to his son then each of the daughters should get 1/2 of the share of the son.
