Unfortunately Muslim law does not recognise right of children over property. In his life time father is considered Amanah or custodian. Such property can only be claimed by descendants after his death. However, Islam considers Ghasb or usurpation as a big sin Gunahe Kabira. It seems your in laws have conveniently usurped the property. As you have stated, that you have all the documents of money transfer, you may approach a court for recovery of loan given by your husband to his mother for building the house. This way you can recover part of the amount spent on building the house.
