Motor accident , injured party asking for money

, i recently bought a two wheeler, for which i didn't do the name transfer yet, and yet to renew the third party insurance, meanwhile my friend took my bike and made an accident, the opposite party is seriously injured now. The previous owner of the bike got a call from police station as no name transfer happened yet! And he was asked to come to the station.. he also called me , i accompanied him , initially he was asked to write a letter and paid some amount... Now the previous owner of the v

As the previous owner‘s name has not been transferred from the vehicle registration copy certificate, the previous owner will be liable for the actions of your friends accident. However, since the vehicle currently belongs to you, you were recab the owner they will try to file motor vehicle compensation claim For the accident by including you as a party to the case, I would highly advise that you follow the matter seriously and provide any proof of current driver, that is your friend. Provide his driving license as a proof and make sure that you renew your insurance at the earliest.
