Motor accident due to wrong route driving.

My friend recently met with an accident while travelling on a 4lane highway at around 8pm. Two guys on a motorcycle were coming in the wrong way which resulted in the accident on a curve road. The driver of the motorcycle died whereas the pillon rider suffered a fracture. My friend's car is insured and has all the necessary documents. However the fir(by victim) states a speeding car hit them in opposite direction. Please help as to how my friend should settle this case where the accident is actually the fault of the biker.
though the accident caused by the biker, the injured/ deceased's relatives will lodge the complaint with the police against the other vehicle. some times police registers case against the driver of the big vehicle which takes place in the incident (in the interest of victims and to provide some compensation to the victims). the procedure will goes according to law.
but during trail of the case your friend can disprove the charge levied against him.
