Doctor gave wrong report can i claim compensation

I underwent a cardiac related medical test at a private hospital the results of which indicated certain irregularities on the basis of which I was declared unfit for my Professional duties. Subsequently, I repeated the test from three different labs where the reports were normal. It took me more than two months of running around to prove that the first report was wrong and to get the issue sorted out so it doesnt affect my professional prospects. Is there any legal way to penalise the doctor/ lab which wrongly diagnosed my condition in the first place?
