Succession Certificate is a certificate granted by the court to the legally entitled person to inherit the property of a person who died without making a Will, leaving debts and securities behind. Succession certificate gives authority to the person to make payment of debt or transfer securities with certificate without having to put a legal heir title on him. 
To obtain this certificate, a person has to approach the court by filing a petition along with the details of the property, legal heirs and the death certificate of the property owner.
