Tenant moves out without settling rent arrears

After much persuasion,my tenant finally moved out but more than six months rent plus electricity charges are still pending.
As usual he promises to pay but since now he has shifted,it is unlikely he will pay.how to recover money?

I would suggest that you send him a legal notice claiming your rent and all other pending dues. This is the first course of action. For further I can only advice after Persuing your property documents.
