Deposit return at end of agreement

Land lord want me to give expense for painting flat from deposit . Am I obliged to do the same

Dear Client, Demand of expenses by landlord or tenant depends upon the agreement between them, whether verbal or in writing and few otherfactors too, such as how have you both approached each other, what was the communication between you both, what is documented by you two, etc. It would help if you talk to us or any other lawyer in details to guide you better.

Well, you are not under any obligation to give the expenses towards painting if incurred by the Landlord to restore the tenanted house in a well to do appearance, if you have not agreed so in the Leave and License/Lease Contract signed with the Landlord
