Absconded from work on probation of 2 months. Any legal consequences??

19-Jun-2025 (In Labour & Service Law)
Hi, I was working in a pvt company on probation -2 months and left without serving the last 7 days of my notice period. I’ve received a formal email accusing me of absconding and saying they’ll take legal action and recover notice pay. I did not sign any bond, I haven’t caused any damage or taken any company property. I’m ok with losing my salary or full & final settlement. I just want to know: Can they actually sue me in court for absconding during probation? Can they blacklist my PAN, Aadhaar

Well, blacklisting of Pan card and aadhar card is the sole authority of the Government of India and no other. This, the threat of blacklisting your identity cards is nothing but a ruse. Feel free to contact me for seeking any legal advice as regards the same.

Well, they may do or they may not do, who knows! Best is to give a Legal reply to their formal email in which they have put lot of accusations on you! You need to clarify the allegations made upon you which will spoil their chances of suing you!

No, generally they can't hold you liable to pay them back especially if you're on probation. Additionally, that you mention that you didn't sign any bond or contract and hence, you are generally safe. However, it'd be better if I can read the e-mail through and know the allegations and consequences stated in order to help you better.
