Accident with a parked car, shall I go for out of court settlement

I accidentally hit a Car(parked on road side) from my Car when i was trying to save a dog when was taking turnnI have own damage and third party insurance bt I dnt want to get fir done on my car so will it be be suitable if I settle to his damages. nhe is saying to pay him 1lac expense. he has my car and RC with him. and took 1blank cheque. nis it worth it to pay him 1lac to get rid of this out of court. no one was injured or harmed. damage happened to cars only

Sorry to know about this accident. It is better to pay the expenses on actuals. Giving your blank cheque exposes you to an unlimited liability and hence you should give the same in the absence of any settlement agreement.
