IPC Section 49 - "Year". "Month"

As per new Indian Criminal law, IPC Section 49 has been replaced with BNS Section 2 with effect from July 1, 2024.
(“British calendar” is replaced by “Gregorian calendar”.)

Please refer to BNS 2 for updated procedures & punishments.

Wherever the word "year" or the word "month" is used, it is to be understood that the year or the month is to be reckoned according to the British calendar.
