Will a marriage between uncle and niece legal in india

Sir i wnt to know that is that possible to marriage between uncle amd niece will be legal in hindu religion. Pls suggest me the best option can i carry with the relation between uncle and niece to getting married.

As per hindu law marriage between uncle and nice can not be possible as both are sapinda and hindu law prohibits marriage between sapinda. However , marriage can be solemnised betwEn them under special marriage act.

According hundu law there is no bar to marry , but in blood relation marriage will be voidable. General rule is - if you both are adult you can marry. If here your uncle is your own grandfather's own son than marriage will not be legal .

It is not possible in Hindu Law. Section 3(g) of the Hindu Marriage Act says about - "Prohibited Relationship" as inter alia - "(iv)if the two are brother and sister, uncle and niece, aunt and nephew, or children of brother and sister or of two brothers or of two sisters." Hence, you both comes within "Prohibited Relationship". Section 5 of the Hindu Marriage Act says inter alia that marriage is not possible in "Prohibited Relationship". However, there is very narrow legal way out for the problem and for the same detail consultation is necessary to understand the very many other factors which is not possible on this forum.
