Dear Client,
Every citizen is equal in law. Even a case is filed against you, you must project your case. Filing of case will not amount to awarding punishment against you. If court finds fault and awards punishment against you, even then according to your service rules if it amounts to violation of service rules then it effects your job. Even then you can appeal to higher court. There is no need to worry. You being prospective police officer you are supposed to know about the procedure under code of criminal procedure and different sections punishments under I.P.C. Now there is no effect to your job joining. You project your case by taking expert legal advice.

Hi
Yes.
A 498a case if filed against you will affect your career prospects.
So better to attend counselling/Mediation as directed by police and ensure that your police job is not affected.
Or else, you can get the 498a quashed by filing a petition under section 482 in High court.

This case is not valid because the case was filed your in-laws but the case must be filed your wife as for sufficient grounds. And another thing is the stage of case is not filed so, the case is complaint stage, to inform the consult the S.H.O. authorities.
