Who can become a witness for marriage registration

I am major and i got married in arya samaj and want to get my marriage registered in sub registrar office. should the witness be blood relation of the bride and groom both side or is it fine to have friend of bride and family of the groom as per hindu marriage act?
Hello Sir,
For marriage Registration, the sub registrar will ask for signature from at least one of the parents of the bride if they're alive and anybody can sign for the rest of the witnesses. Totally 3 witnesses are required to endorse.
