What to do my mother mentally harasses me

30-Jun-2023 (In Family Law)
Respected Sir/Madam, I am 22 year girl. I have been experiencing the extreme Mental Harassment from my mother since 1.5-2 years. Harassment is about to get married immediately. I have just completed Masters and I want to study further. She is using A words like, "I must have done abortion at your time" and so many. She is calling even to my friends continuously. My all friends have stopped talking to me. Home is in the name of my mother, so she is continuously saying you do not stay at my home now. Give me a date when you will leave. She even calls me when I am in travelling/ in office. And now she is threatening me that if I do not agree to her, she will go to police against me. I have not even used single bad word to her. I recently applied for passport just as A documents which will help in future. When I informed her this, she started harasssing me extremely and she is threatening me that when passport will come I will tore it in front of you. Kindly help in this situation.

Firstly try speaking with your mother regarding her behaviour towards you. Have you consulted a psychologist for your mother.Incase she does not still listen then since you are an Adult you can stay in a rental house or as PG till relationship improves between you and your mother. You have not mentioned who all are staying in the house . carry all your certificate when you are leaving .

As per your query,

If your mother is forcing you out of the house, you can approach the police station and file complaint also you can approach the court and file an application under the Domestic Violence Act and seek protection and shelter order from the court. After obtaining the order she cannot force you to leave the house.
