What is the time period for alimony cases to get settled

18-Sep-2023 (In Family Law)
My sister has filed a case for Alimony on her husband(Govt. Employee) for more than 2 years but the advocate says that it is the normal time that the procedure takes. But somebody told me that it takes only 2 months for the court to ask him to give maintenance and it is compulsory. We have attached all the proofs regarding his salary. So i want to know that is it the normal time the proceedings take or the advocate is playing game with us.?

Hiiiii.....first you have to show me the papers of the case and tell me at what stage the case is? From where are you and from where you are fighting the case? There is no fix time to decide the case....it's depends on advocate how he or she handles the case.

please share some more details like under which section your sister filed case. however, interim maintenance is granted with 4-6 months and in case of govt. employees it is being deducted from the salary of husband. 2 years is a big time, however, it depends on location too.

so, in the present scenario you are advised to share more info like how much cases are pending between your sister and her husband and under which section.

provide complete information to enable me to answer your query properly.

for further information/clarification you can call/meet me.
