in this regard you are requested immediately to inform the police station over a General Diary for your own safety and incase if your inlaws file a case against you. You are separated means, you are living apart from your wife or are you both divorced? Discussion is needed.

First of all, you can not stop your wife and in laws from instituting a false criminal proceeding against you , if they want to do so. But even if they do so, then you need not to be worried and panicked as because lodging a false case can not itself prove any allegation. But to be in safe position in future you may either send your in laws a legal notice to warn them or you may lodge a complaint before police station against your in laws for harassing you.
